Referral program
Your organization can generate referral links to invite new people to
Sencai and track who signs up through them. This is managed from
Settings → Referral Program (/gravity/settings/referrals), and is
scoped to your organization - the links belong to the org, not to you as
an individual.
Creating a referral link
Section titled “Creating a referral link”- Go to Settings → Referral Program.
- Select Create Referral Link.
- The link appears in Your Referral Links with a short code. Use the
copy button to grab the raw code, or Copy link to grab the full
shareable URL (
app.sencai.space/invite/<code>).
There’s no reward type, amount, or maximum-uses limit to choose when you create a link - every referral link pays out the same way, described below. You can still set an optional expiry date, and deactivate or delete a link at any time.
Creating and managing links requires the Owner or Admin role in the organization.
How the reward works
Section titled “How the reward works”Every referral earns the same reward: 1% of what the person you referred spends on Sencai, for the 12 months following their registration.
The reward isn’t a one-time payout decided when the link is created - it accrues over time, based on what your referral actually spends. Sencai reviews the referred customer’s spend each month, so:
- A quiet month for your referral means a smaller reward that month.
- A busy month means a bigger one.
- Once 12 months have passed since your referral signed up, that referral stops earning anything new - a reward already accrued keeps its value.
When a reward is settled, it’s added as account credit for your organization - a balance Sencai tracks and draws down against your organization’s future billing. This credit is separate from your Stripe account - it isn’t a balance Stripe holds, and it won’t show up on the Stripe-hosted billing portal itself.
What qualifies as a referral
Section titled “What qualifies as a referral”Sharing your link (/invite/<code>) sends the person you invite to a
landing page, then on to account registration. Once they’ve registered
and sign in for the first time, the referral is recorded automatically -
you don’t need to do anything to trigger it. From that point, their spend
starts counting toward your reward for the next 12 months.
Who the reward belongs to
Section titled “Who the reward belongs to”A referral reward belongs to both you and your organization - the person who created the link, and the org it was created for. If you’re coordinating a referral campaign across a team, anyone with Owner or Admin access to the organization can see the full list of links and rewards, not just the person who created a given link.
Tracking your referrals
Section titled “Tracking your referrals”Your Referral Links shows each link’s code, whether it’s active, and its expiry date. Rewards Earned lists the referrals attributed to your organization and what they’ve earned so far.
Referee email addresses are shown partially masked in this list.
Rules and limits
Section titled “Rules and limits”- An optional expiry date deactivates the link automatically once it passes.
- You can create multiple links if you want to track different campaigns or channels separately - every link earns the same 1% reward, so this is purely for your own tracking.
- A reward, once settled as account credit, doesn’t change again.
